About The Handmade Bunny
So, what's it all about, and who are you?
I am Anna Hull, AKA The Bunny Maker. I make bunnies out of socks! Yes, I do.
And, in a nutshell, I live in West Sussex, with a husband, three small boys, lots of lego, pencils, paint, cushions and random, yet visually pleasing, objects.
That's me, to the left there, painting away in The Burrow workroom, at The Warren
I started off with a little company called Half an Acre, merrily painting wooden fish, hearts and lizards.

One day I made a bunny out of a sock for my eldest son. And that was the start of it.
The bunnies took over, you see, and Widget and Friends was born. This is Widget (below), he is the one who started it all. He is 'Head Bunny' at The Warren, where all the sock bunnies live. He thinks he's in charge.

Where did the idea for The Handmade Bunny come from?
When I drive I get ideas – hundreds of them. It can be quite annoying sometimes and I have to put the radio on to drown them out. So, I was driving and it came into my head – a website showcasing some of the wonderfully talented artists and makers that I come in contact with on a daily basis, but only bunny items – handmade bunny things for bunny lovers. And on top of that I could donate the sellers fees to Rabbit Welfare. Bingo! A double whammy of helping us handmade sellers and helping bunnies.
That night I contacted as many people making lovely things as I could find and the idea was off …….
Why bunnies?
Aha! Another good question!
My eldest son loves rabbits. He has 42 soft toy ones. On his bed. It is a double bed, it has to be, because he was sleeping on the floor. "The bunnies threw me out", was a regular response. He loves the softness of bunnies, the 'floofiness' as he calls it. It is because of him that I first made a sock bunny. My son, socks and bunnies are all closely interlaced.
Do you have bunnies of your own?
We do. We have three, Spike and Yeti (aka Mr and Mrs Bun) and Nosy.. You can see them in the photos dotted around the site.

Nosy and Spike, identical brothers (sadly now separated due to brotherly differences!)
I also run a small bunny and small animal boarding holidays, The Warren Bunny Boarding, where I offer wonderfully spacious accommodation, delicious wildfoods and lots and lots of love and attention so you can enjoy your holiday without worrying about your beloved animals. I even post daily (almost) pictures and updates to the Facebook page so you can see what your buns etc are up to.
